Tristan Au (He/Him) is a Director of Photography and Producer from Singapore currently based in Washington, D.C. He focuses on uplifting marginalized voices through narrative and documentary. Making movies that capture the human condition has always been his dream.

Tristan has worked on projects for the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the International Monetary Fund, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His images have contributed to programs such as NEXT at the Kennedy Center on PBS and the 2024 BBC Proms television broadcast on the BBC.

Tristan’s narrative short film, “Omakase” (2023), was an Official Selection at the Lightreel Film Fest and won Best Short Film Director and DMV Film at the Washington DC International Cinema Festival, as well as the WILL Interactive Fiction that Matters Award at the American University Visions Awards.

Tristan graduated as a Film and Media Arts Major from American University in 2024.
